When drilling high-pressure oil and gas wells in petroleum exploration, in order to protect the oil and gas reservoirs and reduce the damage to the formation, it is necessary to use bromide (CaBr2, ZnBr2, etc.) solid-free completion fluids with a density of up to 2.30g/cm3. Concentrated solutions of these salts are highly corrosive, and as the temperature increases, their corrosiveness intensifies, and the temperature of some high-temperature wells reaches 200°C. Tests have proved that the only corrosion inhibitor that can inhibit salt water corrosion at a high temperature of 140-200°C is sulfur-containing compounds. This is because these compounds chemically react with metals at a certain temperature to form a dense FeS protective film. Thioglycolate is an excellent corrosion inhibitor that can be used as bromide completion fluid. When used alone, the effect is good in the temperature range of 149℃-204℃, but it is usually used in combination with thiocyanate corrosion inhibitor and antioxidant (aldehyde/sugar compound). The formulation of the corrosion inhibitor is: ammonium thioglycolate 0.6%, sodium thiocyanate 0.4%, and sodium erythorbate 0.8%. Add the above corrosion inhibitor to the completion fluid containing ZnBr2 with a density of 2.0g/cm3. After a 7-day corrosion test, the corrosion rate of the steel sheet is only 0.155mm/a.
Storage: sealed and stored in a dry, low-temperature, well-ventilated place.
Note: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mouth. In case of a similar situation, rinse with plenty of water in time
