Product Introduction:

Phthalic acid CAS 88-99-3, also known as 1,2-phthalic acid, is one of the isomers of phthalic acid, and the two carboxyl groups on the benzene ring are located in the ortho position. It is a colorless flake crystal in general state, soluble in methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in water and ether, insoluble in chloroform.

The melting point of Phthalic Acid is 234°C (phthalic anhydride is formed when heated to above 200°C), and the relative density is 1.593. The latter is the precursor for the production of chemicals such as dyes, perfumes, saccharin, phthalates, and phenolphthalein.

Phthalic acid is one of the most common phthalic acids. The advantage of this compound is that it can be used in both liquid and solid forms, is low cost, and has a wide range of applications, commonly found in cosmetics, fragrances, and personal care products.

Product Usage:

Phthalic Acid can be used in synthetic resins, synthetic fibers and medicines.

Phthalic acid is a white crystalline solid in which each molecule has two hydrogen atoms attached to an oxygen atom. This compound is used in many industrial applications such as plastics, rubber, vinyl and monomer resins and synthetic fibers.

Phthalic acid is used in toiletries

Phthalic Acid is a semi-transparent, white crystalline solid used in cosmetics and toiletries to give them a soft, creamy texture. Phthalic acid is found in many common products such as nylons, sunscreens, anti-perspirants etc.

Phthalic Acid is also used in the pharmaceutical industry for its antibacterial properties.

Phthalic acid is a chemical used in the pharmaceutical industry for its antibacterial properties. The antibacterial properties of phthalic acid are due to its cationic nature which acts as a cation exchange resin.Phthalic acid is used as an antibacterial agent in contact with the skin and also used in topical application.

Phthalic acid has been well studied in the topical application as an acne treatment and its use has been documented to be effective for the treatment of acne vulgaris. At lower concentrations, it has been studied as an effective treatment for acne vulgaris and its use has not been demonstrated to be clinically useful.

It is one of about 35 used as a bacteriostatic agent in cosmetics, hair products and skin care products.

Other uses

Phthalic Acid is also found in many other applications such as pharmaceuticals, paints, paper pulp, detergents etc. It is also used as an antiseptic in many household products.

In the presence of water, it converts into a polymer called phenolacetic acid, which can be oxidized to form ethylene oxide (p-xylene), which can then be used in many chemical applications and also as an organic solvent . The presence of oxygen will cause a reaction between the two polymers to form various organic compounds such as methanol, benzene, toluene, etc.

It can prepare standard solution as alkali measurement standard, and can also test cobalt, copper, germanium, mercury, nickel, potassium, strontium and zinc, and determine cobalt, iodate and lead, etc.
