Nickel Sulfamate CAS 13770-89-3

Nickel sulfamate is a main electroplating salt with excellent performance. It is a dark green transparent liquid and is easily hydrolyzed at high temperature or low pH value. It is easily soluble in water, liquid ammonia, ethanol, and slightly soluble in acetone. The aqueous solution is acidic and hygroscopic, and it quickly deliquesces in humid air. It slowly weathers in dry air, loses four water molecules when heated, and begins to decompose to form basic salts above 110°C. Continue heating to generate a mixture of brown-black nickel oxide and green nickel oxide.

Aminosulfonic acid is a sulfuric acid derivative with bifunctional groups of amino and sulfonic acid groups. It can react chemically with a variety of substances. The aqueous solution has the same strong acidity as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. It is also called solid sulfuric acid, which is non-volatile, non-hygroscopic, odorless and extremely low in toxicity to the human body. However, the skin cannot come into contact with aminosulfonic acid for a long time, let alone enter the eyes. It is very stable at room temperature and can remain unchanged for several years; it begins to decompose when the temperature reaches 209°C. It is easily soluble in water and liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in ethanol, ether, hydrocarbons and carbon disulfide.

Although its aqueous solution is strongly acidic, it is less corrosive to metals than general inorganic acids, and has a slower effect on iron corrosion products. Some sodium chloride can be added to slowly produce hydrochloric acid, thereby effectively dissolving iron scale. It can also remove scale and corrosion products on the surface of equipment made of iron, steel, copper, stainless steel and other materials. It is the only acid that can be used for cleaning galvanized metal surfaces. When using aminosulfonic acid aqueous solution for cleaning, the temperature is generally controlled at no more than 66°C (to prevent aminosulfonic acid from decomposing) and the concentration is no more than 10%.
