Product Introduction:

Molybdenum trioxide (MoO3), also known as molybdenum anhydride, is an inorganic substance with a molecular weight of 143.94.

White transparent orthorhombic crystals, with a slight greenish tint, turn to yellow when heated, and return to the original color after cooling.

Molybdenum Trioxide is insoluble in water, soluble in strong acids, and generates complex cations of molybdenum dioxide (MoO22+) and molybdenum oxide (MoO4+), which can form soluble complexes with acid radicals.

It is very stable in the air. Dry hydrogen chloride is passed into it and heated to sublimate into light yellow needle-like crystals.

Molybdenum Trioxide reacts violently with halogen compounds such as bromine pentafluoride and chlorine trifluoride.

Decomposes by high heat and emits toxic fumes.

Product Usage:

Molybdenum Trioxide can be used for colorimetric determination of blood glucose bond, protein, phenol, arsenic, lead, bismuth, etc., and alkaloid inspection.

Molybdenum Trioxide can be used as a reducing agent for phosphorus pentoxide, arsenic trioxide, hydrogen peroxide, phenols and alcohols.

It is also a raw material for the preparation of metallic molybdenum and molybdenum compounds, and can also be used for enamel glaze pigments and medicines.

Molybdenum Trioxide can be used as a catalyst in the petroleum industry.

This product is an additive flame retardant with dual functions of flame retardancy and smoke suppression. It can be compounded with other flame retardants to reduce costs, improve flame retardancy, and reduce smoke generation. It is a highly effective flame retardant and smoke suppressant.

It is used for electroplating or as a metal oxidation additive in the preparation of molybdate.

Molybdenum Trioxide has a synergistic effect when mixed with copper oxide, iron oxide, cadmium oxide, zinc oxide, etc., and its smoke suppression effect is better than that of single MoO3.

The metallurgical industry is used as a powder metallurgical raw material to produce various molybdenum metal materials.

In the chemical industry, Molybdenum Trioxide is used as a molybdenum source additive for various molybdenum compounds and a raw material for molybdenum-based catalysts.

Used as a base film for solid lubrication in mechanical parts.

Classification of Molybdenum Oxide:

Highly soluble molybdenum oxide

  • In 2001, the research team of Endako Mine, a primary molybdenum mine in Canada, successfully developed a type of molybdenum oxide called Highsolubemoly Oxide (Highsolubemoly Oxide).
  • Its appearance was immediately favored by many molybdenum chemical manufacturers.
  • According to reports, most of the high-quality molybdenum concentrate produced by the molybdenum mine in 2002 was processed into highly soluble molybdenum oxide.
  • In 2003, nearly 5000t molybdenum was produced and processed into this product.
  • This product is processed into various molybdenum chemicals, such as molybdate, molybdenum catalyst, molybdenum lubricant, etc. The chemical consumes more than 50% of the total output of molybdenum.

Industrial molybdenum oxide

  • The traditional industrial molybdenum oxide production method uses rotary kiln or multi-hearth furnace to oxidize and roast molybdenum concentrate.

Molybdenum oxide briquette

  • Molybdenum Oxidebriquettes are alloy additives for various molybdenum-containing alloy steels, such as low alloy steel, cast iron, cast steel, alloy steel and stainless steel, and are widely used.

α-Molybdenum trioxide

  • α-MoO3 is a smoke-suppressing flame retardant with excellent performance.
  • Compared with iron-based compounds (ferrocene, iron oxide), copper-based compounds (copper oxide), metal hydroxides (aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide), zinc borate and other smoke suppressants, α-MoO3 and octamolybdic acid Ammonium has the best smoke suppression effect.
  • PVC combustion fumes are mainly related to aromatic compounds such as benzene produced by the pyrolysis process. The higher the content of such compounds, the greater the combustion fumes.
  • α-MoO3 can promote the intermolecular cross-linking reaction in the initial stage of PVC pyrolysis to generate carbonized products.

Chemically pure molybdenum trioxide

  • Chemically pure molybdenum trioxide (CGMo), its raw material is low-grade molybdenum intermediate product containing 15% to 17% Mo, and the molybdenum recovery rate is 98.5%.
  • It is also used in the production of organic molybdenum compounds.

Nano molybdenum trioxide

  1. Nano molybdenum trioxide tape
    • Nanotrimoly Oxide Belt (nanotrimoly Oxide Belt), the molybdenum trioxide belt is the cathode, the voltage is from 0 to 1100 V, and the distance between the anode and the cathode is 45 μm, 50 μm, 60 μm, and 80 μm, respectively.
  2. Nano molybdenum trioxide
    • Nano-molybdenum trioxide is a catalyst for fluorination reaction, and a catalyst for oxidation of alcohol to aldehyde.

Molybdenum dioxide

  • Molybdenum dioxide is a brown-violet crystal belonging to the monoclinic crystal system, containing 74.99% Mo and having a density of 6.44g/cm3.
