Itaconic acid is also known as methylene succinic acid and methylene succinic acid.
It is an unsaturated acid containing conjugated double bonds and two carboxyl groups. It is rated as one of the top 12 value-added chemicals from biomass. It is a white crystal or powder at room temperature, with a melting point of 165-168°C and a specific gravity of 1.632. It is soluble in water, ethanol and other solvents.
Itaconic acid contains an unsaturated double bond and two active carboxyl groups, which gives it active chemical properties and can undergo various addition reactions, esterification reactions and polymerization reactions.
At the same time, it is destined to have a wide range of applications. It is used to produce industrial raw materials such as acrylic fiber, synthetic resin, plastics, rubber, drugs, surfactants, non-toxic food packaging materials, herbicides, descaling agents, dental adhesives, etc.

sealed package. Store in a cool, dry place away from light. It needs to be put in a paper drum lined with plastic bags and stored tightly. Pay attention to moisture, heat and oxidant protection. Store and transport according to general chemical regulations
Itaconic acid contains two active carboxyl groups and a double bond in its molecule. The double bond and carboxyl group are in a conjugate relationship, which makes itaconic acid very active. In addition to self-polymerization, it can also be combined with different numbers of other monomers. Polymerization to form polymeric polymers, so it is widely used in the chemical synthesis industry.
Biological method: Using carbohydrates as raw materials, adding nitrogen sources and inorganic salts, it is obtained by the action of Aspergillus terreus.
Note: This production method is for reference only, and the actual production method should be based on actual production needs.
