Product Introduction:

Diethylene glycol (DEG) is a colorless and transparent viscous liquid. Flammable and low toxicity. It has the general chemical properties of alcohol and ether. Naturally present in tobacco leaves and smoke.

Has a spicy sweetness. Miscible with water, ethanol, acetone, ether, ethylene glycol, immiscible with benzene, toluene, carbon tetrachloride. But the solubility of hydrocarbons is strong.

Diethylene glycol has actually been commonly utilized in various cosmetics as a solvent, warm protecting agent and also thickness control representative. It has a history of use in various countries in recent decades, and no problems have been found during this period.

Rosin, shellac, cellulose acetate, and most oils and fats are insoluble in diethylene glycol, but soluble in nitrocellulose, alkyds, polyesters, polyurethanes, and most dyes.

When reacted with acid anhydrides, esters are developed. It can respond with alkyl sulfates or halogenated hydrocarbons to produce ethers. It is primarily used as a gas dehydrating agent as well as extractant, and also as a lube and completing agent for fabrics. It is originated from the action of ethylene oxide and also ethylene glycol. Learn more”

Product Usage:

Diethylene glycol is mainly used for dehydration of natural gas and extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons. Used as a solvent for ink binding and textile dyes. It is also used in the production of rubber and resin plasticizers, polyester resins, fiberglass, urethane foams, lubricant viscosity modifiers and other products.

It is likewise used as a conditioner and also ending up agent for textiles, in addition to a solvent such as plasticizer, moisturizing agent, sizing agent, nitrocellulose, material and also grease.

Used as a gas chromatography solution, suitable for aqueous analysis, similar to selective polyethylene glycol, used to analyze oxygen compounds (especially alcohols), aniline, aliphatic amine, pyridine and quinoline.

Diethylene glycol is also used as an antifreeze component in brake fluid and compressor lubricating oil, as well as in the preparation of cleaning agents, and as a dispersing solvent in other daily chemicals such as inks.

For the preparation of plasticizers, it is also used as extraction agent, desiccant, heat preservation agent, softener and solvent.
