Product Introduction:

D-Luciferin Potassium Salt CAS: 115144-35-9 is a water-soluble substrate for luciferase, present in a variety of luminous organisms. In general, it is a white solid powder, soluble in water. Commonly used as biological reagents for the production of cell analysis kits.

D-luciferin potassium salt is a course of heterocyclic compounds found in living organisms that can create bioluminescence, such as fireflies. In the visibility of ATP, luciferase emits light after its oxidative decarboxylation. A substrate that can be used for luciferase in chemical research.

Under the catalysis of ATP as well as luciferase, D-luciferin potassium salt is oxidized to create green light (560nm). When the substrate is extreme, the number of photons created is favorably correlated with the concentration of luciferase.

The difference between D-Luciferin potassium salt and D-luciferin sodium salt:

Both D-Luciferin potassium salt and D-luciferin sodium salt are commonly used in animal in vivo imaging analysis and in vitro bioluminescence detection, and the effects of the two are basically the same. The main distinction is the shape and solubility, the water solubility of sodium salt is greater than that of potassium salt. From the current research and published literature, the usage rate of potassium salt is much higher than that of sodium salt, especially in vivo experiments.

Product Usage:

D-Luciferin is widely used in firefly luciferase-based reporter gene assays, including detection of firefly luciferase-expressing cell and tissue sample lysates, and in vivo imaging analysis of firefly luciferase-expressing animals.

The principle is because: D-luciferin potassium salt in the presence of ATP, magnesium ions and oxygen through the action of firefly luciferase oxidative decarboxylation reaction emits blue-green biological fluorescence with a wavelength of about 560nm. Therefore, this product is the most commonly used substrate for firefly luciferase.

The Luc gene encoding luciferase in D-luciferin potassium salt is a commonly used reporter gene in plant and mammalian cells. Since there is no background interference, luciferase can be easily detected at levels as low as 0.02 pg.

D-Luciferin has also been used to perform imaging analysis of in vivo/in vitro expression of luc marker genes and luciferase-fusion genes in living cells, tissues or organisms.

D-Luciferin potassium salt is commonly utilized in press reporter genetics assays, immunoassays as well as ATP fluorescence health and wellness surveillance assays.
