Chromium(III) 2-ethylhexanoate, C8H16CrO2, is a coordination compound of chromium and ethylhexanoic acid.
It is combined with 2,5-dimethylpyrrole to form a Phillips selective ethylene trimerization catalyst (not to be confused with the Phillips catalyst).
Chromium(III) 2-ethylhexanoate is used in the industrial production of linear alpha-olefins, especially 1-hexene or 1-octene.
