Adiponitrile is an organic compound having the molecular formula (CH2)4(CN)2 and is a precursor of an important polymer nylon 66. In 2005, its production could reach 100 million kilograms. About 90% of the world’s annual production of adiponitrile is used in the production of nylon 66 salts.
