Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble polymer, can adsorb the solid particles suspended in sewage, through the charge in the bridge between the particles or cooperate with each other, so that the particles agglomerate to form a large floc. Therefore, it can accelerate the sedimentation of particles in suspended solids, and has obvious effects of accelerating dissolution, clarifying and promoting filtration.
The main applications of polyacrylamide in China are petroleum exploitation, water treatment, paper making, superabsorbent resin, metallurgy and coal washing. In water treatment, the amide group of polyacrylamide can form hydrogen bonds with a variety of substances through affinity adsorption. The high molecular weight polyacrylamide forms a bridge between the adsorbed particles and forms flocs, which is conducive to the sinking of particles. Polyacrylamide flocculant can adapt to a variety of flocculation phenomenon, less dosage, high efficiency, less sludge, easy post-treatment, in some cases has special value. Polyacrylamide is used as a water treatment chemical in raw water treatment, municipal sewage treatment and industrial wastewater treatment industries in China. Polyacrylamide is a polymer organic flocculant with high efficiency and wide application at present.
Granular polyacrylamide flocculant can not be directly added to sewage, must be dissolved in clean water at room temperature to use. When the water temperature is lower than 5C, the dissolution is slow, and the rising water temperature will accelerate the polymer degradation and affect the application effect. The recommended concentration of the prepared polymer solution is 0.1-0.3%.
