Price is not the variable to optimize on first. The real question is: does the manufacturer understand your quality requirements, and are they able to consistently produce to that spec?
First: what’s the test method for purity? HPLC area percent, external standard, which column, which solvent? A supplier who can answer that question clearly is a supplier who actually runs the test.
Second: what’s the shelf life under your recommended storage conditions, and what’s the basis for that claim — accelerated stability data, or just convention? There’s a significant difference.
Third: can you provide a batch record for the last three production runs? Not every supplier will say yes. But asking tells you a lot about how they operate.
If those three questions get vague answers, keep looking.
